Landscaping on the roof of an existing underground parking

Objective: Landscape the roof of an existing parking lot without having to reinforce the current structures.
Challenge:
- Minimize the mass of the backfill
- Evenly distribute the load on the existing structure
- Give landscape architects the flexibility to create unique shapes and designs
Solution:
- EPS lightweight fill minimizes the loads’ mass
- Original architectural concept using custom pieces
Result: The landscaping was completed without having to strengthen the existing structure. The budget was on target and the location’s looks and its eco-friendly characteristics have been improved.
